Privacy and legal notice
Short, because there is not much to declare. Everything this site keeps about you is listed below.

Who publishes this site
Pineurs Guide is a personal, independent site written and maintained by Miguel Torrez. It is not affiliated with HEC Paris or with Ecole Polytechnique, and nothing on it is an official statement from either school. It is hosted by Vercel.

Measurement
This site uses Vercel's aggregate audience measurement. It counts page views and basic performance timings. It does not set a cookie, does not build a profile, does not follow you to other sites and does not identify you. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no session recorder and no third-party tag of any kind.
Because the measurement is cookieless and aggregate, it falls inside the CNIL's audience-measurement exemption, which is why you are not being asked to accept anything. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
What is stored in your browser
Two values, both set only when you ask for them, both readable and deletable by you at any time in your browser settings:
NEXT_LOCALE
Cookie
Remembers the language you picked so that the bare address of the site sends you back to it.
One year
Only when you use the language switcher
theme
Local storage
Remembers whether you chose light, dark or your system setting.
Until you clear it
Only when you change the theme
Neither value leaves your browser, and neither is used to recognise you. Deleting them costs you nothing but the preference itself.
The password-protected area
One part of this site sits behind a password and holds interview material shared with the people it belongs to. It is excluded from search engines and its pages are stripped out of the measurement before anything is recorded, so the addresses inside it are never collected. If you have access and want your material removed, ask and it will be removed.
What this site does not do
- No advertising and no advertising networks.
- No cross-site or cross-device tracking.
- No selling, sharing or renting of any data, because none is collected in the first place.
- No account, no newsletter and no form that asks for your details.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making about you.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection over personal data held about you. This site holds none: the measurement is aggregate and the two stored values sit in your own browser. If you believe something about you appears here anyway, write and it will be dealt with.
You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
